Have picked up a set of cheap Tri-Y extractors for use on a 2f. The problem is they have been sitting a garage for the last 6-12 months and developed surface rust where they mate the gasket.
What do you guys think would be the best way to clean these up prior to installing??

wire brush to get rid of the surface rust if you feel you must and a bit of ultra copper (ultra high temp silicone) whe you put em on, dont go mad with it, just a thin smear is enough.

Would gasket goo or ultra copper clear up any imperfections and create a better seal?
I use it on my vehicles, have not had a leak from that part of the zorst yet ... Also make sure that the nuts/studs/bolts that hold the manifold on are torqued down equally ..
