steel rims recomendations please

Post by tuff-trol »

Greeting and salutations to all ....
I have a GU 4.2TD , the standard steel rims on her , but finding these to be a PITA when it comes to mud as it gets stuck in them and throws the balance out

can anyone recommend a strong steel rim in 16x8 worthy of looking at , I was told to get Sunrasiers ......they look like they are made out of tin foil  as i am running 33 x 13.5 x 16 Badga Claws ....

thanx in advance

There are a brand of rims called rockcrawlers availbale from Procomp, they are pretty beefy from what I've seen of them, bit dearer but apparently much tuffer.

I run 80 series rims on the maverick. They cop a hiding. The only downside is that they don't have the same offset as the roh cruiser offset and they rub a little more than they used to on the roh rims. comparing the damage to mates roh rims and mine on the same spot, big difference. IMO. My tryres are 35 x 16 claws

any tires in the same price range are the same.. you will find most people on here run them without regular issues and if you do fuck one, they are only ~$60 to replace

Southern wheel works (or somthing like that) make some very strong wheels that alot of the vic winch challenge trucks run. I know you can also get them thru Ontrack in east keilor (ph 03 9331 6536).

i've got the RockCrawler and think they're great. Thick and very strong. A few of my mates have them now as well and no problems.
