Who's running 33's, what brand and what have you broken. I am thinking of getting 33 x 10.5 boggers i already have custom offset 15 x 8 rims. I have been running 31 x 10.5 mt/r's on 15 x 7 rims NO LOCKERS and havnt had any problems (except i kept breaking my t/c mounts but thats fixed now). Will be getting lockers when i get bigger tires. Only have a 1.3 to but do drive it hard.

Also is there anywhere on the web that has a decent review of hard core tire's running on a zook so i can get a idea of what to buy and what not to. I have looked on here but everyone seems to have mixed opinions.

you should be alrite with 33's depends on the driing style
when the lockers come thats when you will break stuff
if you want twin lockers and anythin bigger then 33 i recoment some other form of diff
i know alot of people get away with 32's

i ran 31's with rear locker for ages with no dramas (til i rolled

), be interested in seeing how long yours lasts on zook diffs with 33s, specially boggers cos they're heavy...
anywhere u read 'bout tyres is gonna be biased in one way or another, dunno 'bout on the net but 4WD monthly did a pretty big tyre test a few months back on hardcore rubber, might be worth a read *shrugs*
all depends on what u wanna drive too. a lot of the nsw boys run big MTRs cos they're awesome on the rock, but something else like a swamper is gonna be better if ur a mud runner...

I think ill just buy them see how they go and if i break to much stuff go bigger diffs. Also whats the go with stronger axles
http://www.puresuzuki.com/front_axles.htm
and what makes them stronger? are they just a bigger dia because if they are ill just make some at work. They say there 4140 but thats what stock axles are (4140 or EN25).

i'm soon to be running 33x13.5 bias claws on WT diffs with a 1.6L 16V Turbo vitara motor, so i'll let you know what flys out and breaks.
front C.V.'s are the worst bit, there like tooth picks

Maybe look at some of the Birfield Cups as well.
I am going to running 31's with welded rear and lokka front soon so we will see what happens there as well.

Just off the topic slightly my missus has a standard Zook 89' Will we expect any problems running 31 x 10.5 r15 BUCKSHOT. Muddies with only a 2' lift or should we just g0 for a 30' ????

expect scrubbage in the wheelwells. A hammer on the seams is a must. also maybe make some slightly longer shackles up.
Also trim the bar that holds the bumper on as well
cheers

I have been running 33x13.5/15 claws for many years now, I have a 1.6L engine 5.125 diff gears with lockers and a 6:1 transfer case, I drive my car very hard and most of my breakages (uni's mostly) stem from a poorly designed track bar to address the axle wrap caused by the spring over, I drive on steep rutted tracks with ledges and loose rocks shale and mud, the odd short stretch of rock and driving my kids to school.

I have run 34" Swampers with low gearing and lockers without any breakage in Victorian conditions ie mud and low traction surfaces.
Yes it has been in a shed for nearly 2 years but it ws driven pretty hard for the 3 or so years before that. I've had the swampers for nearly 5 years now with no problems

I will add to my post by saying that although I give my car a hard time, I am very mindfull of when I should back off and take another line, I try to be very smooth on the throtle when I have a bit of lock on the the front end as that is when it is at its weakest, when I get the front airborne I try to come down with the wheels pointing striaght ahead and my foot not touching the fire wall.
You will note the word try, because in the heat of battle, best intentions can be easely forgotten
When I first bought my car, I too broke a CV on one of my first trips, but as the car had been abused and not maintaned, I did not (and still do not) count that as a real breakage.
It will depend on a number of factors, available power, the surface you drive on, how much respect you show your vehicle, maintanance and many others, whether or not you will blow things to bits.
and remember,
you don't have any traction problems if your wheels aren't on the ground.
Peter.

Farrk.
After you saying that Droopy I think i won't have a zook left the current way i attack things.
I think i will have to change some driving styles with the lockers and the cig locker.
cheers
