After all the trouble with 3.00 di engine what miles have they been doing. Are they capable of the huge Ks that td42s can rack up?

Only time will tell. My workplace has a fleet of 6 3.0 GUIII's. All manual. Mine is 2 years old and has clocked up 177,000, some of the others have in excess of 200,000 kms on them. None have had any mechanical problems so far. Seems like they would be good for at least 300,000km. Outside of that I can't comment. If you're looking for 500,000km plus from an engine, the 4.2 might be a safer bet as they have been proven to do between 500,000 & 1,000,000 kms depending on application. Again it comes back to budget and intended usage. The 4.2 is $7k more. If you plant to flick it every 200,000 - 300,000 kms the 3.0 is probably the go!!!!!!
