It depends on the type of tank and the valve fittings, it was $80 each tank + parts, because mine were a multivavle fitment (the in,out, pressure relief all in one) the whole brass valve unit had to replaced at $140 each so all up $440  . I am doing the complete installation and once i,m done it will cost me $90 to get complianced.

If your tanks have the multi valve like mine then you have to replace the whole valve unit as part of the retest is to renew all the valves and seals, and unfortunately the relief valve is part of the fitting and cannot be repaired hence replacing the whole fitting. I rang around and got prices ranging from $220 - $425 per tank ! Mine were 4 years out of date and i was hoping that they didnt fail them as it would have made the conversion un economical if i had to buy new tanks. If you had a single tank with seperate fittings it would only cost about $150 tops.

If the case is that the V/unit has to be replaced , may take the tank without the unit ?

Where did you get it done ? Will have to start finding out places soon .

Thanks .

All the best , peter .[/quote]

They wont test the tank alone as it must also past a pressure test.
Fleet services in Preston did mine and the guy was very helpful and didnt frow at me doing a diy installation.

No need to remove the floor, a bit of jiggling and they go in. I bought the tanks with cradle about 6-7 years ago for $400 and fitted it to my 2dr which is now a ute (with 80ltr lpg tank in tray) so i have done the install before.

Prestons abit far away , hopefully find someone closer .

There are a couple of mobile guys that will come to you -
Gas Life 0419 584 016

Micks mobile testing 0419 476 444

Both quoted same price for mine. Take the tanks out your self it will save you the labour costs. Since your tanks are APA, it shouldnt cost anymore than about $350 for both - depending on condition of course.
