Sleeving a crankshaft pulley (2LT)
Well a couple of weeks ago the Bundy broke down and was towed home due to what looked like the crankshaft pulley comming loose. After a closer inspection it was found that the pulley was broken and has worn the crankshaft and keyway where it sits. I have brought another pulley however it has a minimal amount of play in it and I was wondering whether you can sleeve it or get something fabricated so it looses the play

RIP bundy :( man I would have put ten dollars on that motor dying by spinning a big end bearing.
I don't think there's a lot you could do to fix that without pulling the motor out and pulling it apart - then you could have the end of hte crank turned down and sleeved, with a new keyway cut on the opposite side.
do you still have that other motor? swap the pump off the dead motor onto that one?

Thats what I was thinking of doing. Is it hard to swap the pumps??? Never done it before but will atempt anything if its not too hard

had the same thing happen on my hilux crank pulley was flogged to buggery and keyway worn and also had a gouge right near the end if the crank.
I bought a new key, cleaned up the crank as best i can and used some locktile liquid metal epoxy to mount the key back in place, also patched up the crank using this stuff.
I recently changed my pulley to a larger one so was able to inspect how things were holding up, seemed fine. Re-did all of the above, but for added protection this time put a bit of super retaining compound on shaft as well.
