does anyone know if it would be possible to fit a 13-bt diesel into a 3rd gen hilux?

Isn't yours a 3B - T which makes it indirect injection ??

and not mulit-valved either, but it makes more power, according to specs :(

You can if you want to run the rear driveshaft diagonally, or run a rear 45/75 cruiser axle.

Another option is to use a crawler box from Marlin http://www.marlincrawler.com to fit the cruiser 5 speed to a Hilux transfercase
