4x4 light 99 Challanger

Post by Mal80 »

Have currently got a problem with a 99 mod v6 auto Challanger.
The 4x4 indicator on the dash flashes constantly when in 2 wheel drive (Not normal), and stays on when in 4wd (normal). Mechanically all appears to be working fine. Does anyone have any ideas, facts or wiring diagrams that may help me solve this problem. I imagine that it would be a similar set up to a Pajero. Any help would be greatly appreciated..

This should give you a start, mostly it turns out to be :-
- leaking vacuum hose
- crook solenoid
- knackered free wheeling hub switch
- bad electrical connection

The Challenger would be Easy Select, not Super Select. Do they still have the same front axle disconnect, or is it a different system?

Yep Easy Select is the same as the Paj except it has no centre diff/viscous coupling for the 4x4 on bitumen function.
The front free wheeling hub assembly is exactly the same as a Paj
