Hi Guys,
I own a 89 NG V6 wagon. the engine has only done, according to the clock, just over 200 000kms, but I reckon it's getting tired. I am using a fair bit of oil. My girlfriend can't go anywhere with me coz when we sit at lights she can smell oil. Found that it's coming from the air filter box! It's also costing me a fair bit in petrol.
I would like to run my Paj on LPG, but even if I rebuild my 3L it still wouldn't be an option.
So, what are my options??? Should I get a 3L from a different Mitsu that can handle gas?
Has anyone here rebuilt their 3L?
Any help would be great!
Thanks
Dean

What are my engine options?

My NH has got over 300,000km on the clock. It's had rings and valve stem seals only. The first 40,000 was company use. The next 220,000 was 10k between services. Since i've owned it, it's been 5k between oil and filter changes. It still goes hard and doesn't use oil at all. Currently use Penrite HPR30 with good results. Might be worth getting a price on a re-ring and getting the heads overhauled.
Shorty Gen2, lots of stuff and more to come!
Thanks for the info.
I just did an oil change with 40/70 Penrite. I used this old years ago on an old worn out motor with very good results, and so far it looks the same this time. I still blows a bit a smoke after idling for a while, but no where near as bad as before. The prob I think I might encounter is the engine using a bit more fuel. I used the 25/70 Penrite in a Mini and it really slowed the thing down!!
I have seen a lot of NG's with the 4 cylinder on Gas. Does anyone think that would be an option, or would I just lose too much power over the v6?
Cheers
