Upgrading to 31/10.5 MTR's in the very near future. :D

What have some of you guys done to accomodate the extra width on the spare wheel carrier??

Also any tips for extending break lines?? Probably after a cheaper option here. Don't really have $$ spend on extended line kits etc.

Yah, another perthie on 31's. I have bolted the 31 on std carrier fine. I am moving it inside soon as it starting to rip the door off, rust is the cause.

Brake lines, swift ones bolt on i have heard. Not sure on age swift but.

cheers

Put some spacer blocks between the carrier and the door and use longer bolts to reattach the carrier to the door.

Hey guys i got a 31 mtr on the standard carrier and mines a 97 coily softtop..

Don't forget the cheese cutters your running now may look tight on the back due to the offset of the rim but your gonna need differrent rims so shop around...

could always run the spare with no air in it also - would allow it to squash up against the body if its rubbing when hard =) just make sure you got a compressor handy should you actually need the spare!!!

speaking of which - how often has everyone on here actually USED their spare?!? ive never seen a zuk with a flat... lol

When I bought my zook the spare was almost flat and the tire was against the back window. They are 30"x9.5" tires so when it was inflated it was worse. So I turned it round the other way so the front of the rim is facing towards the back door. There is now a gap between the wheel and back door. :D

The extra leverage from the raised height will stuff the door hinges mighty quick.

Musn't be eatin enough weeties....................

I am looking at buying sum new 15x7 ROH F100 rims. Will these be offset enough for 31's or will still need cut and weld. Do the guys who do this sort of work know how much more to offset rims???

depends on the offset of the rim the tyre is on .. I could fit a 32x11.5 on a 15x8 rin with a 3 inch offset BFG on easier than a 235/75 on stock rims

how hard could this be to make? and i dont think you need to raise the tyre upwards if its going to be coming outwards.

apparently the speedy wheels have more offset than ROH... i got speedys brand new for $55ea i think?

make yourself a rear bar/tyre carrier .
the bigger tyre will rip the rear door off over time, soft or hard top then its a pain to repair, easier to prevent before it happens.
my first zuk broke the carrier then tore the hinge out of the body after the carrier was braced.

Who made yours drew. It looks sweet. Or if you made it, how much to make another one. My 31' is doing the rip of door trick at the moment.

cheers

With my old rims (31mt/rs on 15 x 7 roh's) i use to put my spare onto the stock wheel carrier backwards and just put the top 2 nuts on it and i never had a problem with it other than the rim gets a mark where it rubbed on the holder. Though now with my offset 15 x 8's the rim sits over 1" off the back door.
