how to clean a fuel tank correctly ?
Hey guys,
how do you correctly clean out a fuel tank ?
I am going to dispose of the old diesel in it currently (it's been sitting in the tank for a couple of years) and give it a good clean.
ANyone have any step-by-step guides out there ?
Thanks,
Daniel.

kero will not absorb water. it is hydrophobic and is very similar to diesel in nature. metho mixes with water and petrol being an alcohol and helps it burn. i wouldn't put more that 1l in a full tank though.shanegtr wrote:use kero to clean em. It aborbs water and will burn easily if any of it gets left in the tank

fuel tanks
at work we drain then remove the tanks, spray a good degreaser in the there and let it soak in for a while.then steam clean with high pressure on high heat.then use a large air blower to dry the tank thoroughly(don't bother with a small air blower, you want heaps of flow).
