removing leaves to lower truck

hi, i need to lower my troopie by aroun 50mm. was wondering if taking out a few of the leaves(there is currently 7 in the pack) would lower it by this much? if so how do i remove them? they have this weird clamp on them that looks like a C almost. would it be best to heat these up to remove? would anyone have any other suggestings short of putting the axles the right way round.

The c clamp around the spring pack is easy to open.
Get a chissel to start to lever the end up then grab the end with a pair of vice grips.

Have you done a spring over on the troopy?

What about the rivet like pins that go through the leaf pack...whats the best way of removing them and putting them back in?

the only pin that goes all the way through the pack is the centre pin, and it is a bolt so easily undone.

6.2 troopy, start with the bottom leaves, taking 2 or 3 out should see your 50mm drop easily. If you aren't running an anti-wrap bar in the rear you will need to with the softer spring or you will twist up the spring and break your diff.

you could also disassemble your entire spring pack and press flatten them to reduce the ride height and still maintain a similar spring rate.
