1KZTE Engine & A343F Auto into Surf transplant questions

Post by Leithfield »

I have purchased a complete donor vehicle (Toyota Landcruiser PRADO
EX 1993; 1KZTE; A343F AUTO) for purpose of an engine and possible
auto transplant into my modified offroader, a 1990 4 door Surf (2.8
3L; R150F manual).

In speaking with others who have undertaken 1KZTE transplants, I
have discovered that the A343F auto peforms very well offroad, and
am keen to install the same. I propose to transplant the loom,
ECU, 1KZTE and A343F auto from the Prado into my
Surf

My questions arise from the fact that the internal plastic console
around the Prado auto is much wider than that fitted to the A343F auto as used in Toyota Surf application, and in Prado the transfer case lever is
located on the upper right hand side (not almost side by side as in surf
application):

1/ Are these parts purely cosmetic and could I thus cannabalise
parts from a wrecked surf to achieve a surf look install

2/ I can also source a complete A343F auto with console from a
wrecked LN130, would this work with the Prado loom and ECU?

With thanks in appreciation of your advice,
Leithfield.
