glow plug help

i've converted a hilux from petrol to diesel, and all is well except i need to set-up a glow plug system

for just a basic set-up, what would i need to do???

my ideas so far were: heavy gauge wire running straight from battery to glow plugs, via a relay, which is activated by a simple push button switch in the cab

would this work????

no reason it wont work, but make sure you fuse it in case the relay gets seized open

Make sure the voltage of your glow plugs matches that of the battery.

Yes will work, try install a relay witha timer, ie. 3 to 11 secs or so. That way you won't overheat.

prolly best idea, a mate has an ex NRMA lux with a button for the glow plugs so I will check if it is on a timed relay

is there specific relays for glow plugs????

or would any timed relay work???
