speedo gear

Post by hypo »

the speedo in my luxy has crapped itself, i have replaced the inner and outer cable, not that, i replaced the removable gear part in the back of the tcase, it was stripped, this fixed the problem tempory, but its doing it again.

i think its the gear on the output shaft of the tcase, is it possible 2 replace this by removing the 7 bolts on the rear of the tcase where the rear output flange is ? or does the case need 2 b dismantled ??

Im pretty sure you only need to remove the rear cover to fix this.

Remove the output flange and the first cover from the case and the speedo gear is the first thing on the shaft, tip watch out for the small ball that stops the gear from spinning, it sits between the gear and the shaft.
