yota section bibles?

Post by shorty_f0rty »

wots the go moderators?

could respective gurus/owners start a thread for each bible, which gets added to with articles for the tech, try and compile as much info as we can.. once its got some phat, trim the chit-chat, reformat and make it a sticky if it cuts the mustard?

no chit chat just pure tech.. the first time i went into the nissan section i found a wealth of info at my fingertips and spent a good hr lookin thru all the common issues with these types of vehicles :P

What would we need to cover?
------
HiLux Bible
4Runner/Surf Bible
40 Series Bible
60 Series Bible
70 Series Bible <sorry guys! :P didnt mean to forget ewes!>
80 Series Bible
100 Series Bible
(did i miss anything?)

so.. whats the OL toyota community thoughts on this? a benefit of this could be less silly common questions which tend to annoy ppl answered already thus reducing stress and blah blah blah..

I started a thread on doing this but nobody seemed to want to help make it, so I let the thread die away.
If the toyota people want a bible for toyota`s then they need to help build it as I am not doing it on my own and niether will ruff or nick. Just because we are moderators or admin doesn`t mean we have to spend all our time on here. Heck I`m trying to finish my lux so I can drive it next weekend

Here is the thread

AHA! I just followed this link and just found a thread on the exact mod i'm trying to accomplish. its working already!

I dont mean that the moderators have to compile it but they can clean it up after its done.. lets try and keep this alive and we might have something in a week or two...

fair point..

why dont you start a thread for the series you know stuff about and common issues and add links to it.. maybe that will help it happen a bit more than expecting the moderators to do it..

garn.. get the ball rolling and start a thread today!

Guts wrote:Also above any links you post can you just write acouple of words saying what the link is about. eg the above link Just needs upgrading to IFS rear springs.

If you find somthing else that you want to add to the list then do an edit on the reply you have allready made instead of making a new reply for every link you might have. If I find you have more then one reply in this thread every reply after your first one will be deleted as its not had to edit your reply and add a new link or new info.

Thanks.

words of wisdom!

please try and stick to the plan everyone!

There has also been mention of the wealth of info on ih8mud... i'm not sure what the stance is of the mods if we start linking to other sites, but it should help bring awareness to other good tech sites..

Go back and read the thread I posted a link to.

One thing I will say about the bible things is we are not having a sticky for each and every cruiser as well as hilux. It will only be 2, 1 for hilux/4 runner/surf and another one for ALL cruisers. So you might as well post in the thread I started as the new one you have started will either be let die or it will be deleted.

One thing I can`t stand is 10 stickies at the top of a BB when they are`nt ALL needed.

guts i have created read strated a hilux and 4 runner one

will add more in the days to come just stumbled on this have been working on this for a couple of days now reading and searching

i will start a all land cruiser one aswell using the same format that i have used for the hilux one

if this is ok i think it will help with stupid and needless posts being made all the time when the same stuff has been answered a couple of pages b4

as you said one for landcruiser and one for hilux this is easiest rather than 600000000000000000 different bibles

Hope this is ok

Yeah, good work Kroozer 91.
One thing I'd like to add, if anyone is reading these threads and spots posts they may have added pics to before OL crashed last year, how bout adding them back in if you still have them, as there is a lot of reference to pics and stuff that are no longer there which makes some of the posts unhelpful, or if you have a pic of what is being described maybe add it in later with a quote from the original post.

Top work Kroozer.
