The procomps on their are still fine however it has been the limiting factor in my front flex for to long even with 5 inch springs when it was bought originally to suit 6 inch lift :roll: :twisted: this was years ago on another guys truck as i bought kit 2nd hand

Anyone got any thoughts or measurements standard or otherwise on the shocks to put in.....

Ryano at fourby's is sussing but just thought id ask if anyones got any HOT TIPS??

to get the correct length to suit your springs remove the shocks and jack the body up to extend the suspension until the springs almost drop out then measure between the mounting points this will give you the extended length then you need to jack under the diff to compress it fully to the bump stops and measure it between mounts again to get compressed lengths then use these lengths when ordering you want one s to sit static at approx halfway between the 2 measurments.anyone correct me if i'm wrong but thats what i have always done .hope this helps.

I have procomps in mine and once i had 5inch coils and i am using the same shocks for the 6inch cols now and have no problems with flex in the front. I will get the number off them later for you if you want, or ring Artic Cool down at Rocklea and ask for Jason and tell him what you need and say that whitewizard(michael) sent you and he might even give you a good price :D

yeah mate compress your front diff one side untill cant go no more hits your bump stop take measurement this is compression and extension is just as much drop as you can get from your front as well
im sure the tyre god will speak to the suspension god pete and find out what you need :D

whether the original shocks were to suit a 3-4 inch kit and got put in the wrong box eg 6 inch kit i dont know :? :? :?

You need to allow for some compression of the bumpstop - you may smash your shocks if they bottom at the point the bumpstops touch. I dont know how often/hard your 5" spring is going to bottom however.......

You might also want to consider raising the shock tower so you can use the longest shock possible...........

Unless you have a 3 or 5 link setup I don't think the longer shocks will help you flex much more, because your control arms can only twist so far. Sure your tyre will drop down further but the other side won't compress as far, unless your shocks are a fair bit too short. In other words, it will look wow but will have only a little more flex. Having said that I would get the longer shocks. :cool:

they seem to be quite a bit shorter. and in combination with front spings being slightly to hard are limiting front end movement........
