Guys,
Help please,
my manual doesn't show me where the glow plug timer is!?
A friend just bought a NJ 2.8 and someone has done a bodgy button hookup, on inspection as to why, I found that the solenoid trigger wire (that has now been bypassed by this silly button on the dash) isn't powered up at all when it should be when it's cold.
Anyone had experience with this, or can point me in the right direction? (just when I thought i was becoming an expert in glow plugs on these things from mine!
Rob

I added the 4M40 workshop manual to my server so you can download it. It's a 3.2Meg file.
It shows the glowplugs relay and ECU positioned on the left hand guard.
Frank.

Thanks Muchly Frank,
Found it this arvo, for others future reference we found the timer unit inside the passengers front kick panel on both our trucks. '94 and '96 models.
for interest sake, it was the problem, it sits just under the wire loom cable gland in the firewall and had copped a dose of water at some stage, might double check the seal on mine now, we'll have to see how much they want for a new one!
