Just drained gearbox to try and get nice gear shifts as its notchy.
Found these to precious items in the bottom. Is this a going to mean an evil wallet empting expeirence awaits?
Put in fuchs 80/90w hypoid gear oil.
Still changes crunchy.

yea thats a shift plate and the snap ring which is supposed to sit underneath it, on an mq box each synchro assembly has three shift plates and two snap rings, imagine it would be the same for most boxes.
I'd be asking the question that if one came out and the ring that supports it is out where are the other two??? they'd either be out or could potentially fall out and jam something... I'd be looking for a spare box or a price at recoing yours....

that rectangular thing looks like a drain plug that goes at the bottom of the belhousing or gearbox to stop water getting in.
you are supposed to pull the plug out to let any water come out (if any) after a trip, looks like it was just pushed right up though.
i have one on mine, which reminds me, better check it
