steering

Post by Webbie »

you have to look for a solid axle p/steering box.mine was $700 from central coast wreckers, you may think  but all the others were$1000+.let me know how you go as i'll be selling mine soon hopefully.
Lockers or Knockers ,both will make for fun.

Everybody wants it, nobody wants to sell it, supply and demand. If you want more convincing, take it offroad. Then you will think $700 is a bargin.

It is an easy bolt on job, as easy as a mod can get anyway.

You will needs to source a Pump for the 308, they are fairly common so it shouldn't cost too much.

and then you need to get hoses and fluid.

Other than that, try looking for one with power steer.

To make life a little easier you could pull the little sports steering wheel off and put a stocker back on.

If you're going power steer it maybe worth looking at high steer/crossover steer if you're wanting to lift it later on.

No use spending money on standard power steer if you may want to change it over later down the track.

You dont need PS....just get a bigger steering wheel. The bigger the wheel the more leverage :D

for starters the 308 is older than my truck, and when they say P plater's for some reason it seems to mean people under 25. :bad-words:
