Purchasing a Pajero

Post by Craigus »

Hi guy's,

The time has come to get myself a 4by, after much MUCH thought and then some more, I have decided that a Pajero is going to be the one for me. I'll be in the market for around a 93-96 model GLS V6 Manual.

I thought I might get some tips on any known issues with these models before I go looking.

Thanks in advance
Craig.

the valve seals on the 3.0 v6 are a common problem, and the ecu will die after about 10 years due to the acid in it. so try and find one with these replaced.

Engine Control Unit. They have a reputation for capacitor failure, which generally causes poor running, rather than a dead engine. Complete failure causing "no run" is less common, but does happen. I've heard the problem is a relatively simple fix if you're handy with a soldering iron, but I don't really know.

Cheers,

Scott
