Hi all, my gf's wrangler makes a ding noice just after you have started it up, is this the low fuel warning noise?
Also is the fuel pickup for the tank on the right hand side as when you go around roundabouts sometimes the engine cuts out.
One more-Are the fuel guages known to be a bit faulty because hers doesn't seem too reliable.
Cheers,
Rob

Wrangler "ding" when it has just started
Moderator: GUtripper
M8 the ding will be the seat belt warning, it will go off if you don't have your seat belt on when you start the Jeep. The low fuel warning is just one beep and the fuel icon will show on the dash.
Also the fuel gauges were notorious for being a bit out of whack, there has been a recall on the sender units. Without knowing the year or history it is hard to comment if the warranty work has been done. I dare say if it showing around 1/4 of a tank and your going around a corner and it's starving then it hasn't been replaced.

Ahh, mine's been replaced 3 times and it still is the most pathetically inaccurate guage imaginable. I can watch it move from 1/4 full to dead empty to top of empty to 1/4 to dead to 1/4 all in the space of about 5 minutes.
Then if I turn it off, the next time I start it is probably on 1/2 full I've given up and just refuel as soon at the first empty warning.

Apparently people think I'm too patronising (that means I treat them like they’re stupid).
