Preventing Snorkel Ingress

Post by blkmav »

Just got my truck back from having the carby rebuilt. Dude said it was full of mud. He also mentioned that snorkels on GQ's increase the crap that gets in. Looking for ideas other than fitting a Donaldson pre-cleaner.

In the mud, i face the breather rearward, and ive also fitted a snorkel sock which works great, just have to clean it out now and then, its made by finer filter and is about $10 from OL

Forget the pre filters, restrict top end power. Snorkel is not the reason, bypassing air filter is. Check the seals etc in good condition.

Normal intake under guard panel gets more crap.

If you want to ride a bog at speed turn head rearwards as stated.
