Sony CD player sucking power

Just installed a Sony CD player in the 40 only to find it's drained the battery... have an inkling Sony players might be known for this. Any help gratefully recieved

You should have two power wires. One RED which will go to constant power. The other one usually YELLOW goes to the accessories switch. What usually drains the battery is when you have a clock display or something like that and people make the mistake of wiring both RED and YELLOW to constant power and this tinny bit of power use to the clock is enough to drain the battery over night.
