Overheating issues

Post by VaughanS »

HI there

I am having a problem with overheating. Have a 3.5ltr DOHC engine, all is stock. Yet when I go into the desert here I have over heating issues, temperature guage at 3/4 or full. Whereas other cars like landcruisers and patrols and wranglers dont have the same issue.

The Temperature here in Dubai was around 50 degrees celcius outside on the previous trip.

How can I improve the cooling system on the pajero. Such as Extra fans, bigger radiators, vents on the hood, etc. What about the air intake should it be changed?

Also the airconditioner does not work well when moving slowly. Dont go faster than 40km/h in the desert.

I really want to keep my car, and not change it for something more suitable for the climate, any ideas or sugesstions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Vaughan Sears
