wiring rock lights as door open lights
i put some el cheapo super cheap $20 spotties under my truck the other week for rock lights. They work a treat and are nice and bright (yet to use them though... maybe this sat nite. anyone keen for an ormeau night run?).
What i was wondering, what is involved in wiring them in a way such as when a door is either open or ajar, the rock lights come on? Kinda like those expensive cars that have those "puddle lights".
Does this sound like a good idea, or a bit of a wank?
cheers,
Mick

indubitably
Re: wiring rock lights as door open lights
sounds like a wank............but if you wanted to do it,you would need a two way switch, the light would come from the commen terminal and then two seperate feeds into the other two terminals. one controlled by the existing door switch's, and one from a constant source. the door switch control may also need another relay put in that would itself be controlled by the door switch (this depends on how many rock lights you have). it could be done, just a bit of mucking around.De-lux wrote:i put some el cheapo super cheap $20 spotties under my truck the other week for rock lights. an alternative would be to fit a second door switch to each door.
it's a wank.
on second thoughts, agreed.
you'll still do it
