Crawler gears

Post by suzidisco »

were can i by reduction gears for my disco i know maxi drive has a 30% gear but by the time i fit bigger tyres it will only be about 10% lower than standard. that is working on the assumption that 33'' tyre increase it by 15% and i am looking at putting 35 on i already have a 1.4 to replace the 1.2 in high range but was wanting to put in 70-90% low range reduction

As well as your t-case try swapping out your R&P to a 4.1 or 4.7 instead of the 3.54 - maxidrive does the 4.1's but not sure about the 4.7s.
Also he does a 40% reduction set as well but it requires machining the transfer case I think.

Maxi drive is the only maker of geras now.
Ashcroft in England used to.

Change diff ratios as well will help the cars performence in high range.

Fitting 4.1's will benifit both high and low range and probaly comparable in cost.
