Hi,
I finally found a TJ tranfer case to try my custom splined output shaft. It fits great but I thought the asking price was high at $1400 for unknown condition.
I was told it was from a 97 -02 Wrangler.
Has anyone got a blown or good jeep case for sale or know of one I could check out? A blown one would allow me to complete the swap before laying out lots of cash.

Anyone know why the Cherokee case has a larger chain housing than the Wrangler I found. Does it have larger diameter chain sprockets and therefore a less stressed chain?

Thanks and regards, Al.

Alan,

My old one is lying around in my mates shed gathering dust.
I swapped mine for his when I did my SYE.

I know he doesn't want to let it go for nothing, but it would be a hell of a lot cheaper than $1400 :)

I'll send him the link to this post today.

cheers

I've got a 'spare' NP231 - and it certainly won't set you back $1400...

$1300 at the most ;)

Na, let's say $700 (half price mate!). I am not sure if you would be interested, but I've also got a spare stock output shaft to throw in with it... maybe a few other bits and pieces...

You can get a heavy duty chain kit for the 231, as well as lower gearing (4:1), 2 wheel drive low adapters, etc.

I'm intrigued by your 'custom splined output'... what are you aiming to achieve with it? Stronger? Shorter? Or just more versatility with different setups??

Let me know if interested.
