im looking at buying a 1984 60 to wreck out and im wondering what the following bits are worth:
rebuilt diesel - less than 15K with almost new aftermakret turbo with recipts.
rebuilt 5 speed with recipts
pto winch complete with steel bar
roofrack
front and rear diffs - rear with factory locker
What else is worth anything on these things
Andrew.

engine up to $3k depending on who rebuilt it (home rebuild or workshop with warranty?)
diffs probably $500 to $1000 if someone wants a factory locker
rebuilt 5 speed about $700(to rebuild costs about $1100) with a rebuilt TC maybe $1000
winch and bar $300-$500

you should get around or alittle over a grand for the turbo kit, wreckers sell them for about $1500 so you need to price it alittle less than them to sell it.
depending what month of 84 will determine what the motor is worth. if it is 10/84 on then 2200+ from a wrecker and an early will go for around $1500-1850. keep in mind that a wrecker will sell it with a warranty of often around 3 months were as you wont. alot of people would pay extra for the warranty. but like said above who built the motor and is the warranty transferable? keep the same things in mind with the box, you should get $1500 for the box and transfer, a wrecker/gearbox shop will charge $2200 to rebuild the box and trans.
pto is worth sweet FA, try and sell it with the 5 speed to get alittle more.
front diff, part it out. $300 for the center and $500 for the disc brake conversion. throw the rest away. The rear complete should pull around $500 although the diff lock sounds sus to me.
if it has electric windows put my name on the master control and all the regs and motors, also a sun roof if it has one.
if it has a grey interior you should get good money for this, with front buckets $1000 if it is super clean.
p/s box is worth $300 and the pump. again depends if it is early of late 150-250.
a good rust free roof cut is worth 700, expect it to sell quick at 400. and about 300 per door if they are rust free.
keep in mind that you will be left with a lot of shit that you cant and wont sell and you are competing against wreckers which makes it hard to get top dollar for somethings, you need to cop it in the chain and just move some of the shit to get your money back sometimes. but at the right price it sounds like it would be a good wrecker.

No pics, its not mine. for those prices i dont think i will buy it to wreck. Its too much of a good car aswell, built up as a tourer still with rego and that. if anyone else wants to have a go and wreck it - or use it as a tourer around oz pm me ill give you more details. He wants $5500 for it and has 15k worth of recipts for the driveline alone. i feel sorry for him, he loves his old 60 but his wife doesn't. she made him go get a jeep larado.
thanks
Andrew.
