I'v read on another site (sssssshhhhhhhhh) that someone with an 80 series cruiser converted the centre dfflock switch to a full manual operation. In other words it won't come on automatically when you select low range. I like this idea as it would be useful for manouvering carvans/boat trailers at low speed etc without having the full traction front & rear. I'm talking about in an 80 series cruiser (full time 4x4).
Wondering what other benefits there are and how is it done?

Shut Up, Get Out, & Start Digging...
There is a low range switch on the rear extension housing of the transfer if you unplug this and leave it hanging there like a spare wire it will give you low range with no centre diff lock. This switch tells the transfer ECU that low range has been selected and locks the centre diff lock.
