Is there a way to convert the rear hilux drum to disc brakes?

So let me get this straight, im am confused as a donkey.

1. I get front hilux rotors, and subura calipers
2. get the hilux rotors machined out to fit the axle? i dont really understand this part
3. make up brakets to fit the caliper to the rotor. schweet got this part sussed
4. assemble the shebang
5. do the handbrake

cheers Julian

It all depends on the model off your axles.
I know on the latter lux the rotors have to be machined out to fit over the outer axle spigot , for rotor centering , but on early lux axles no machinning of rotor is required.
For early axles a spigot ring will have to be made and put onto the axle end to center the rotor.Without this ring rotor is only centered by the studs .All no good!

Here's one kit that provides you with a full floater:

a semi floater:

another is here:

click in Toyota
click on suspension
kit is at the bottom of the page.
