the problem with lots of lift in leaf springs is that to get the lift, you have to arch the spring. the amoutn of arch limits the amount of flex/articulation available, so you have a situation where you can have plenty of lift, or plenty of flex, but not heaps of both. The solution is a SOA (illegal in qld), but you can achieve decent lift, wheel clearance and articulation with a 2" spring lift, shackles and some body cutting or (shudder) body lift. a 75 will fit 36's with 2" springs, 2" shackles (3" suspension lift), and a little body trimming or a body lift, and it will flex pretty well especially in the front.

thanks for the info, extended shackles are illegal in qld too. my engineer seems to think that he could get a set of climax or superior shackles passed by the dept of trans. hence the need for 3-4 in springs to fit the 36" simex. already have a 2" body lift but am still in need for a good brand to go for. dobbos said they can make them but i have not had many good reports on dobbos springs. superior also make custom springs on request but i don't know any body with a set to let me know how they are.

my 75 flex's awsome with just an extended shackle kit (approx 2 inch lift) the bake in the other hand is a rigid as, well yeh very rigid i have no sway bars etc and happy with it. next i must take a leaf or reset springs in the back for more flex, woulkd also never consider climax or superior on my rig due to guys who i know have had them and hate them, maybe due to there set up is wrong, but overall not my kind of shackle good luck with it.
