Front seats for a 91 model sierra h/top

Post by Garfunkel »

Hey guys,
I have just purchased a 91 model sierra hard top and i am looking to do many mods on it, one of the things i am looking at is replacing the front seats with something a little more comfortable and sturdy than the stock deck chairs it comes with.

Does anyone know of any seats which are good to install, easy, possibly using from another suzuki maybe using the same floor bolt configuration?

do the seats from the GTI need to be engineered when they are fitted?
Is is slightly illegal or what?
What did they cost you and did u just drill holes in the floor and fit bolts and nuts?

I didn't drill hioles in the floors because I'm using the original rails. I had to drill new front holes in the seats.

I guess it needs to be engineered but I haven't had time. I'll do it when the lift, transfer and big tyres are fitted, so all in one go.

I'm keeping an eye out for seats from 2 door hatchbacks... mainly cause the passanger sliddy thing could come in handy.

but then again i want them for a 1l that i haven't bought yet
(i honestly don't find my WT seats uncomfortable in my '92)

If any one in sydney is upgrading their 1.3l seats can you pit me in line to get yours?

I liked to put a set in my wt so i can take my exsiting ones out for leather retrimming :D (Mall crawler likes to think he plays with the big boys :P)

SO the original rails would fit fine with some seats from a suzuki swift, just standard seats not the GTI bucket seats cos i have sourced t4hem for $90 a pair.
SO u had to drill new holes in the brackets of the chair did u?

I live in the western suburbs of melbourne and was wondering if anyone knows how much it would cost to have them installed professionally and whether anyone knows where i can have it done?
