GU Noob Q's

Post by sierrajim »

Hey Guys,

Have just purchased a 99 GU Patrol 4.5 petrol, auto as a temporary means of transport.

The plan is to keep it relatively stock (read bolt on mods) so that when i sell it the vehicle can go back to stock if needs be. Also have my Hilux as an offroader that i don't have to respect.

I think it has 2" coils now, not 100% sure, does anyone have the standard height measurement for a GU petrol from hub to guard?

Items already fitted:
Extractors
Snorkel
Bar (alloy shiny junk)
Lights
285/75 BFG Muds
Some bling wheels i fitted today
LPG

Looking at fitting:
Coil spacers or new coils
Winch and winch bar
Swaybar disconnects - which ones are best to use?
K&N / Finer filter
Front locker
Rear drawer system (will fabricate myself)
Maybe a Toob rear bar
Roof rack
Higher wattage headlight globes - how high can i go?
Radius arm spacers - do i need them? if not should i put them in anyway?

Things to fix:
Interior lights don't work
Sub tank (petrol tank) gauge sticky
Sub tank light in switch does not work
Need spare key (Nissan want $75, any other suppliers?)
Keyless entry remote busted

Is there anything i need to look out for on this car? I've got all of the parts to do a major service which i will do Saturday. Any tricks?

Sorry to jump in and ask so many questions, have read through the bible, many of the threads date back a little while so i thought there might be some fresh ideas.

As i fix and fit the items above i'll post up as to how i go.

Feedback appreciated.

Regards

James

PS

Yess Bogged I have purchased a PATROL

u shouldnt need radius arm spacers unless u want to run 35's.
i run 33's with 3" lift no probs.
check the interior light switches in the door jams. my interior lights dont work either because the switched are shagged.

Only thing is that if i switch on one of the map lights while the doors are close the door adjar light comes on, turn the map light off and the door adjar light on the dash turns off as well
