My arm is somewhere between 110-115mm compared to the standard 178 ish mm. The beauty of custom arms - thanks Chaos 4x4
If you're looking at moving your axle forward you may want this info. My front axle is in the standard location for a 48" rear hilux spring pack with dropped hangers but in standard location. My steering box is touching the radiator support panel and my spring bolts are in the standard location on the perch. I could probably afford to move the diff a further 3/4 to 1" forward without the steering rods binding. Once I get my cromoly tierod with a 35mm OD, I'll see how much room I have and look at shifting the spring bolt to the holes in the rear of the spring perches to gain another 1 1/4" or there abouts. Already pretty pleased with approach angle but always searching for more![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)

some more thinking and we will be all sweet.

So how will moving the diff forward help your efforts to reach the steering wheel?

If the arms are REALLY short then I'd hate to think how much extra torque you are putting on your steering box especially if you have those 37" tyres.
Go hydro assist!

i have looked into hydro but the way i understand it, in xrcc you are into the outlaw class with it. The arms would be fine for a petrol but with a diesel the valley of the sump is on the front where as with a petrol it is on the rear.
i am going to move my axle as far fowrad as i can and then see where i am at.

My understanding of the XRCC rules it that a full hydro steering setup would put you into Outlaw class. It seems unlikely that a mod that is legal on road would put you into OL ![Question :?:](./images/smilies/icon_question.gif)
