Fj40 track width

Post by Mudrat »

G'day everyone. i recently did the disk brake install on the front of my 40. The discs and swivel hubs etc all came off a 60 series. The front diff now appears to be approx 1 - 2" wider each side then the rear diff, ie different track between front and rear now. My question therefore is, can i just leave as is or should i put some wheel spacers on the rear to widen its track. I also so a different set of offset rims that could be put on front or back to even it out. Thoughts and or suggestions would be much appreciated

Cheers

I think that is normal. The factory 40 series front width is 57" from wheel mount surface (WMS) to WMS and the rear is 55". 60 series disc brake conversion shouldn't really increase your track width.
