Grinding noise

Post by bulldogy »

Guys just fitted a 2" bodylift and 3" susp lift thanks too duncan and a few other people like AJ Steve Bevan thanks guys for ya help today.
Now on the way home i was expecting a few drive line vibes as its a swb there is some but not as bad as i thought but.
Ive still got the 31s on for now and changed diff ratios to 4.625s.
Now the mystery Duncan found a brocken engine mount which will be fixed .
But when i take off and get too a 100ks all is fine but when i back of the loud pedal she starts to grind dunno where its from and its only on decelarationand braking.
Could it be the engine mount causing this?
Maybe the unis in the raer driveshaft?
Havent droped the tcase .
Herd it a few times before the lift but not as loud .
Clutch?
Any advise appreciated.
It aint the diffs i know for sure . Well the rear diff anyway
Nuthin is easy lol
thanks in advance Dave

Havent had a look yet but the diff was just set up by WA Diff center as he had the 4.625 ring and pinion swapped into the original factory rear so they would have checked the rear diff out.Im thinking mybe fan on the shroud with the broken engine mount will have to have a listen

Spoke to opposite lock and they rekn the SWB lifted so high tend to grind when backing off the power the fix is to drop tcase with spacers and grease the driveshaft fully.
But after a message from duncan adjustable uppers are the way too go.
hopefully thats all it is.
The diff place would have replaced the pinnion bearings if they where shagged so i dont think its the diff seems to come from the front of the truck i thought maybe brakes worn out rubbing on disk but they have a litlle meat on will have to change them.

Had the same prob with 6" lift even with adjustable uppers and longer lowers setup with correct angles on the uni's

Just changed to double cardin joint and its now perfect, have to rotate the shock mount and spring perchs now

Has anyone got any photo's of the spring perchs moved around and maybe snake racing shock mounts ? or should i get the axle cut and centre rotated?

cheers
