Snorkel Fitting...

Post by @cer »

Hi guys,

I just bought a second hand safari snorkel and I dont really know how to fit it to my Hilux LN106R properly.

Just though that maybe someone on here could do up an installation guide for the snorkel ie. cutting the panel, bolting it on, connecting it up etc.

Or maybe someone could do one better... Fit it for me... If you live in Syd of course...

Either way let me know. THanks guys.

you will need a template, most 4b places will have one, local dude gave us one when we did lukes shorty... then agin he only charged $100 to fit them... hardly worth the hassle.

You can get the fitting instructions from the safari website, no measurements or anything tho...

Best to go and ask a 4WD shop if they have a template you can borrow, ARB or someone like that
Cheers,
Dan.

I couldn't get hold of a template so I took the snorkel off my mates truck and measured where the holes went, marked up my panel and started cutting.

Even this way was fairly easy.

I am now having trouble where to get a hose to go from the snorkel to the air filter, then I haven't really looked.....

Place like pirtek, repco, bursons, truck spares, local mechanic should be able to help you...

Basically its a re-inforced piece of plastic to handle any vacum and heat.
Cheers,
Dan.
