Interested to see what mods others may have done to get more torque out of their engines? Got the 3.0L Gen 1 V6.
I'm still running the 4.625 gearsets and need to rev the knockers off the car to get some mumbo, although in these cars you get about 230 nm of torque its only delivered at around 4000 rpm.
I would like to see if anyone has ideas about how to get some grunt down low, as this would improve drivability and lower fuel consumption. Ideas?
Cheers
Daryus
P.S. Don't say get 5.29's - I know!!!

Darius, there's not a real lot you can do without changing cams etc.
You can do the exhaust and play around with the EFI (like mine) but you will get HP gains and not much extra torque.
I'll be doing something with mine about April next year.
Most likely dropping in a 3.5V6 (with the larger 3.15 t/case & 5sp) and tickling that up.
I'd like to drop a V8 in but me thinks more breakages......................
And I'd like to keep it as Mitsu as possible.
A mate is about to drop a 3.5V6 DOHC into his swb (same as Blairs) and he reckons it bolts straight up to his 3.0V6 5sp.
It will all depend on if I can find a 3.5V6 (with all the bolt in shite) for a good price (he got the motor with all bolt ons, auto & t/case for $1000).
