Dash Cluster problems.

Post by Sneezing7 »

OK, so recently I had my gearbox and clutch replaced due to years of abuse. Whilst this was being done a water leak was spotted at the back of the engine area (which was fixed at the time).

Anyhow, I got my car back yesterday, and for some reason the following does not work:
- Speedo
- Water temp gauge
- green 4wd light

The tacho works fine, and same with the indicators and warning light.

My question is are the above 3 related in anyway? Anything obvious I should look for? has this happened to anyone else?

Thanks guys!

Speedo- check the cable from the gearbox is still connected. Same for the water temp sender- I think it's near the back of the engine somewhere?

I'm not sure where the 4WD light switch is? I know mine is sometimes a bit hesitant to come on!

sounds to me that the guys who did the clutch forgot to put things back where they came from.
as said before the speedo is a cable that goes into the gearbox or transfer case depending on the vehicle, the temp sender is a wire that goes on a terminal either on the block or thermostat housing area, 4wd switch will be a wire on the transfer case near the top.
personally i would be going back and having a few words to the so called mechanic that did the clutch ;)

Thanks guys..appreciated!!

Speedo and Thermo gauge are now working perfectly!

My 4wd light is still refusing to work though. Might clean the terminals on the transfer case
