I believe there is 4" of extension possible in the wheel base at the
back of a swb zook, as well as 2" at the front (using std suspension parts). With an easier to find swb, we could get 2" ? at the front, with the rears up front, and 4" by moving rear springs back to end of chassis, or a little further with another extension. then just lengthen rear tailshaft, or spacer to fit. This would make a mwb, 6" longer in wheel base than a swb zook, much cheaper than buying a lwb, 10 - 12" longer.
just a thought, any fabricating gurus or others got any thoughts? christover

Chris,
it's possible to go 4" at the front, run hilux front spirngs in s/r, then run hilux front in the rear with a 1" extension.
setup works great in SPOA and also SPUA,
I will be going stock RUF in combo with a front pack then in the rear running hilux front springs.
should be good enough for my rice zook.

I can't see how you would get 4" extra WB in the back and 2" extra WB in the front without extending the chassis. Please explain?

Anyone got factory specs on the WB measrement for SWB and LWB???
chassis extensions
I was crawling under my mates swb (he wants a lwb) it had 4" behind the spring mount, on rear of chassis. Maybe its not standard, or its an 1983 1 litre thing? (or I had too many funny mushies)... rear springs up front does require a chassis extension, many ppl have, of about 3_4", which gives about 1 1/2 - 2" at the axle. I suppose it be same work to extend the back chassis a little, too. I already have a lwb,
but a few ppl are trying to find one. the ppl concerned can mig well, so figured it may be one solution. the lwb has a truss running up the curved part of chassis, which doubles for a front spring hanger mount. I guess I need to measure more zooks before shooting my mouth off
