hey guys and girls as you all know I am looking at the moment for a rocky ute with leaf suspension front and rear. I was just wondering what evrybodies thoughts are in the suspension department. I am wanting about 3 - 4" lift, is this possible with leaf suspension and what would the flex be like as I want good flex due to not being able to get lockers
Just your thoughts people, going to start ringing suspension places this arvo, can't wait to get my rocky now
cheers Nico

I got 2" lift in my 84 rocky, pretty good, wish I went for 3 though
If your in Sydney give Liverpool Springs a call, I found them to be the cheapest and he got me carrols springs, cheaper than carrols was gunna sell em to me
Rocky's are already pretty tippy so i'd wanna get wide tyres & rims if you were going 4". Other than that go for it, you will get heaps more flex.

thanks RockyF70 I appreciate all the fast replies from you
You have a standard diesel right? Just wondering how a 2.8L diesel would go with 33" muddies on them as this is what I am thinking with the ute.
Hopeing to buy one for around 4000 and have about 4 000 in mods to play with
Thinking of getting some big lift and tyres, complete service from top to bottom and new interior.
Then about six months later turbo the diesel or source a turbo diesel motor.
This is my projest car can't wait, in about a year, toyo diffs and then lockers

this is only what I have read here before, but the gearing aint really low enough for 33's, plus the extra strain in diffs+axles you may blow one. Apparently 31's are about the biggest u can go b4 expecting to encounter problems.
I will be geting 31s asap

r in brissey...have n itch un are
SUSP: soft as a mo in my F75, however maybe harder in the ute.
me personnally would go 2" BL for hight not suspension lift because some
lifted springs are too hard and limit flex.
gearing is Grimace with 31s and u wont be able to steer anything bigger.
HOWEVER as i read later ur putting in toyo diffs gearing should be ok.
i went from rocky 3.36 to nissan axles 4.6 and high has pretty much become low range with 33x12 muddies
big lift may look cool but its Grimace offoad in a skinny ass rocky
1" up=3/4"wide
