get the bundy flexing better....
I have an 85 RJ70, with coils, its flex isn;t to write home about tho, it has 2" ome suspoension lift with nitro charger shocks.
the guy who i brought it off recons it had about 12,000 kms on the suspension when i brought it so who know its probly up around the 15,000 now!
How long does suspension last on average? it allreaddy seems to be 'lop' sided and lower on the drivers side....or a twisted chassis
any ideas to get it flexing better? scrap it and throw in efs suspension? put 80 series suspension in it?
cheers greg

the two questions you need to answer are, 1: how much do you have to spend 2: how much flex do you want?
the OME suspension should be good for 50,000 to 100,000, and the sag is easily fixed with a coil spacer at the offending corner, so if having it ride nice and looking ok are important, that's all you need to do.
if you want to get more adventurous, SEARCH, I and other have posted quite a bit on bundera suspension mods. if you are actually serious about flex out of it you will need to consider an A-frame 3 link in the back, and a five link in the front. I suggest you hit the front first; it's probably the bigger job but it more or less eliminiates that bundy habit of cocking a front wheel in the air at the first sign of a rock.
a quick and dirty method of getting bigger numbers on the ramp is to remove the front most left and rearmost right radius arm to axle mounting bolt, and to loosen the other one at that corner. it works well for craling too, but is unpredictable (ie unsafe) at higher speeds so not recommended.

on a more serious note, to get a little more flex out of the bundy and not break the bank account you could start by replacing all the bushes on the vehicles with...... with...... i forget what they call the plastic stuff anyway tough dog supply them. The parts are cheap its just installing the buggers when i did mine i needed a press but it did help
You are your own worst enemy!
Your right, rubber does flex better, however it also perishes with regular water, heat, cold etc. I suppose it boils down to whether you need the longevity of polyurathene or the extra bit of flex from the rubber. Im not sure if there is a price difference between the two though...

and poly ones flog out quickly so you are still better with rubber imo.

considering the title says
BETTER FLEX FROM A BUNDY i think we can safely assume what he's after
Spit my last breath
flex
i got dobinson blue bushes which are soft as anything, run gu patrol shock in the front and standard shock mounts in the rear with some long shocks, can drive up on to a 700cm rock with the front right hand wheel.... ive spent $250 in total and it eats everything i give to it, wouldnt bother doing anything else........ front suspension is 3 link which is a patrol front set up! so anything they do you can do, go with lots of sag not lift
