today whils pondering over a beer with my mates about my rear shokie mounts..
i looked at my dads 83 lux.. and it has a sort of lay over shocks as standard!!!!
ok so what year did they change to the "normal" wishy woshy mounts? and would any one by chance have a set laying about? becasue that is exactly what i was going to do with mine!!! i have a standard set of newer moddel ones! if any one wants a swap?
ok i will put a post in wanted aswell! but yeah what modles?

mine has the wishy washy poo ones - 94 model gen III i think.
I think, and it hurts, but i think they came std on the Gen II's and they definately came on the Gen I luxes. definately cannot be gaurenteed.
Seen a few luxes with these. The only problem is that the mount is very low to the ground, the lowest point bar the pumpkin by memory and apparently get knocked about, ending in broken welds and dropping shocks, bending them. Reinforcement could help.

yeah you're right there mate. Earlier gen 1 luxes' (like Aza's) had shocks mounted in this / \ arrangement. personally, i would keep the diff you have now, as its probably stronger. get some of these

easier than swapping for an older diff

ooh, i forgot to mention, to affix those new shock mounts, i'm about 99% sure you have to do a U-bolt flip to get the lower mounts to sit correctly on the diff.
MSN me if ya want any more advice

u dont need to swap the diff..... its just a differnt shaped u bolt plate... similar desisgn to the ones on 75 series.... then the top mounts are just bits of threaded pipe running though the crossmember, then welded... really simple..
