Hi there.
Can anyone suggest a good Torque converter to replace the one I have in my middy. From what Ive been told by my mate the lock up is on it's way out. As far as i know it's the original converter that came with the 1hdt and auto. Has anyone replaced one recently??? What sort of cash outlay might I be up for?
Any input would be greatly appreciated,
regards,
MArz

hdt in middy
the middy has the original auti that came with the 1HDT but i've been told by a Auto mechanic the the earlier convertors had problems with the lock up and this si what mine is doing... all good till i hit about 80 Kmh then it starts to shudder a bit, when i back off the throttle it loks in fine
a good auto shop that knows 80's should be able to help. mine shudders when it's in need of an oil change but my mech has told me this is a common problem and adjustments can be made in the box to certain valving to eliminate it.
can give you the number of a shop here in QLD if you wish to call them for advice.

does it have correct oil in it as I had a soarer V8 and the only oil it runs on is the toyota type IV, if it had anything else the lockup clutches would shutter really bad!
Go hard or go home!!!
