GU a/cond. issues

Post by sudso »

Mate at work has a 2002 GU 4.2 TD Wagon
The computer is shutting down the a/c all the time.
Apparently it does this because it senses engine overheating but the temperature is normal according to the gauge and the Nissan dealer cant find anything wrong so they dont know.

Anyone got any clues as to what the problem might be?

Cheers

I remember somthing about a faulty a/c over heat tempure switch, this was mounted it the radiator, and would play up on the early models, there should be a bulletin on this that nissan should have, or have access to, one of those (ive never seen that before, but here is how to fix it reports, conferdenial to nissan dealers only). check this out and see how you go, if not a local auto electrian should be able to sort it out as it is probably out of warranty now.
