WE Rock Vehicle Classes - 2006

Post by Strange Rover »

The new WE Rock rules arnt out yet but this is how they are going to pan out.

The unlimited class isnt going to change. Basically anything goes as long as its automotive based.

Now for anybody wanting enter the modified class you need to look at the rules very closely when thay come out cause if you dont comply with them you will be competiting in unlimited with all the single seat, rear steer, rear engined buggies.

The basics of the new modified class will be:

- 2 seats on an equal plane
- 48in (1220mm) minimum chassis width (basically the width measured at the rocker/slider area or where the "side steps" would go if you ran them)
- front engined
- steering box (ram assist allowed)
- 37in tyres max
- bonnet, grill , front guards, sides, rear quarters to make the rig look like a 4wd vehicle
- The structure of the frame must extend to the front of the front tyres and to the centre line of the rear axle. The front of the front "bumber" must be located no further rearward than the front of the front tyres and the bottom of the bumber must be no heigher than the top of the front tyres at static ride height and it must be no narrower than 20in (508mm).

The construction of the frame can be full tube (doesent have to have RHS chassis rails) and the rest of the rigs requirements are per the current WE Rock rules at www.we-rock.cc

So if you want to compete in the modified class you need to ensure you comply to the rules.

Now for anybody wanting to get into this sport have a serious look at the modified class. You can be very competitive with a low dollar rig. This class has a maximum tyre size on 37in and no rear steer. Well built rigs running toyota or nissan axles can be very competitive in this class. the unlimited class is very quickly going to blow out $$$ wise especially with all the portals and rear steer we are now seeing in this class.

Yep - sort of. The rules of the current Legends class is being opened up for next year to allow full tube rigs and will be called something different.

Called Limited Class. We wanted to open the class up a bit so that more can get involved. Obviously the more involved, the bigger the sport.
Of Course I Can Handle A Crisis. Hell, I Create Them!
