I just use turps to clean it then let it air dry for a while.

DON'T use any flammable liquid to clean an intercooler, or if you do, flush with HOT water and allow top dry.
If you have ever seen a diesel running on a whiff of kero, turps, or petrol etc, you'll know that there is no way to stop it, short of stuffing your hand or a big rag into the air intake before it breaks the crank...
