I am told that the front lower ball joints of my 1993 v6 4Runner are shagged and I need some new ones. I rang Super Cheap and they quoted me 2 new ones for $117 .. anyone have any other suggestions.
Also my car is pissing power steering fluid everywhere, and I am told it's most likely the power steering pump, anyone know of a good replacement? Should I get new, 2nd hand, reconditioned? Can someone recommend somewhere good to do the work in Brisbane also?
Any help would be appreciated.

For $200 bucks I got my landcruiser pump stripped down and checked with all new seals ect and tested. As long as they are not doing anything weird or making horrible noises you should have no problems. Putting other pumps or 2nd hand ones is more trouble than its worth unless its a purpose built offroader/rock crawler. Before you take it to anyone clean it with degreaser and find the leak by having someone turn the steering while you watch. It maybe the connections or a damaged reservoir. When you found someone take it off yourself and take it to them.My landcruiser pump comes off in about 4 minutes.

Benny,
Before you rebuild the steerin box pump thingy whatchoocallit..
There is a product that DOES work in fixing leaks in these areas..
Why.. it worked on my 75 ute on the box...it was dripping constantly thats how bad it was...
Go see Warren (Wogga) at bp virginia (cnr pritchard and sandgate rd)and tell him punchy (scotty) sent you, and ask him to wack in some of that stuff he stuck in my 75 ute to stop it leaking...i think you will be pleasantly surprised. and finacially better of for some time !
As for the ball joints..that cheap...grab them with both hands.

I ended up getting some lower BJ's from Thompsons ... better brand then Supercheap and they were $120 for the pair.
I was quoted $350 to fully rebuild the pump, and flush the whole system out, so I think I might go for that.
Thanks for the help .. and we gotta catch up once it's all fixed punch.
