Im just about to replace the headgasket on my SD33T and i am wondering what sort of care, etc i need to apply to my injectors. I Have done many head gaskets on petrol engines so im not scared in the least. Im just curious as to how to handle my injectors properly as i am going to get the head crack tested.
Thanks guys

When removing injectors, as soon as they are removed from the cyl head, cover the nozzle with a plastic cap to keep dirt out at both ends. It only needs a minute amount of dirt to upset the spray pattern which can cause knocking similar to a bad big-end. Replace the copper washers with new ones on re-assembly. I use a very small amount of silver anti-sieze on the threads where it screws into the cyl head. Careful tightening the spill pipe--use 2 spanners...
